To Life!

Posted by Jenna, Under Home, Married Life, Personal

I’m literally dancing around the house from a spontaneous onset of excitment about life in general. Maybe it’s because of all the sweet things you all have been saying to me in my last post about the blogroll and what could be improved (did the post come off as a plea for praise? It was not intended to be so.)

Buy you’re all so lovely and sweet, and your kind words combined with That Husband coming home from his trip to Houston a day early have me beaming from ear to ear.

Here are a few other things that have me prancing:

I gave That Husband his Valentines day present yesterday. Can you guess what it was? It involved looking like this for a little while.

This is what color it was in December:

And this is what it looks like today: (Yes I’m being kind of shy in the photo because I have no makeup on)

I gave my husband blond hair for V-day. He likes it, I like it. And I promise you will see better photos of me wearing my new hair soon.

Then I went to the leasing office to pick up a package and saw this on the ceiling. They pained the dome to look like a birdcage. It made me so happy I had to take a picture and show you.

One of the packages was from That Mom. Among other things she sent me the bookends That Sister gave me for Christmas a few years ago. I was momentarily saddened by the carelessness of the USPS system.

Luckily That Mom taught me the magic of Gorilla Glue a few years ago.

Not quite good as new, but I’m just so happy to have my pretty bookends with me once again.

The other package was something I had been waiting and waiting so impatiently for.

My etsy alchemy request for a custom wall vinyl from seller Wall Creations and More! I’m planning on moving the bridge shot to the office and working on making the bedroom a space full of pictures of us, using some of the spicy and sweet engagement and wedding photos we have. I’m working on making the bedroom as calming, relaxing, and intimate as possible.

The quote is from St. Elmo by August J. Evans, a random old book we bought for the centerpieces for the wedding.

That Husband was really skeptical about using one of these wall vinyls. He thought it would look cheesy, but I don’t think it looks cheesy. I think it looks lovely and inspiring. I love the line “Accomplish thou my manhood”, it reminds me that I want to keep working every day to make our marriage better.

Tonight, if That Husband gets home early enough, we are headed to a temple session and afterward to get some dessert with some friends we haven’t seen since last summer. If works keeps TH late we are going to invite them over to our house for some homemade ice cream.

I’m just so thrilled to be alive right now, I don’t know what it is but I’m grinning from ear-to-ear and shaking a little bit from excitement about the greatness of life.

I hope you get the chance to feel the same way this weekend!

  2. The quote looks really great on the wall! How did you get it on so well? We had a vinyl xmas tree and had the hardest time getting it on right!

I like the blonde hair, too!

  3. Oh, very nice present to TH. I have a feeling I might be dying my hair brown again for Ryan one of these years (boo). I enjoyed all of the pictures- the ‘birdcage’, bookends, and wall quote.

  4. The vinyl wall quotes are looking kinda cool. I like some of the image ones on etsy like the book case or some trees. They’d look kinda cool in a nursery too.

That sucks about the bookend, is there any chance it could be varnished over to cover up the crack better?

You’re very lucky to look great blonde and brunette, but I like you best blonde, I think. From what you showed us, it looks gorgeous.

It’s lovely to ‘hear’ you so happy : )

I was the same way. Did I mention in the post that this was a custom request? I paid a little bit more for it, but it’s worth it to have something I find really inspiring and personal.

  12. My hair could use some love for sure. It needs a trim at least, but the color needs a little help too. That’s one of the things I plan to do when I have money again.

I can’t wait to see more hair pictures. You’re gorgeous with ANY color of hair, girl. But it’s adorable you did it for TH.

  15. I love the wall vinyl. It’s lovely. Can this only be used once, or can it be removed if/when you move to a bigger place? I’d love to get something like that, but we rent at the moment and know we won’t be here forever. I’d hate to leave it behind.

Unfortunately it is a one time thing. Each of those letters are individually cut out, and I can’t even imagine what a task it would be to peel them all of and attempt to preserve and stick them onto another wall. The sheet, custom made for me, was only $31 which I don’t think is that bad. I plan on using them throughout the houses I have in life (now that That Husband agrees that it doesn’t look “tacky” as he previously predicted.)
